The New Year’s Eve Dinner Cruise Plus is a five-hour City Cruises sailing from Tower Millennium Pier on 31 December 2026, and the earliest of the dinner boats to board : check-in opens at 7:45pm for an 8:15pm departure, returning at approximately 1:15am. A welcome glass of Champagne, a three-course dinner followed by tea or coffee, half a bottle of wine and a 500ml bottle of water per person and a glass of Champagne at midnight are included, with a live band and dancing after dinner. Dinner is served at shared tables of up to ten. Dress code is smart casual and tickets cannot be cancelled once booked.
On board before the city shuts
Boarding at 7:45pm is the earliest of the three dinner cruises from this pier, and on 31 December that is worth more than it sounds. Central London closes to traffic through the evening, and the earlier your check-in, the less of that closure you have to cross. It also changes the shape of the night: dinner is served before departure rather than under way, so the hours after the meal are free for the band and the deck.
The boat is back alongside at about 1:15am. If you would rather stay out later, the New Year’s Eve Dinner Cruise from the same pier returns at 2:00am.
How the night unfolds
From 7:45pm — Tower Millennium Pier
Check-in opens on Lower Thames Street, below road level, and it is the earliest of the three. Be at the pier 30 minutes before boarding and check the Transport for London road closures before you set off.
8:15pm — casting off after dinner is served
A welcome glass of Champagne, then three courses with tea or coffee, half a bottle of wine and a bottle of water per person, at tables seating up to ten.
Midnight — Champagne and fireworks
A second glass of Champagne is poured for the toast as the fireworks go up, with the live band playing through the rest of the night.
Until 1:15am — back at Tower Pier
The boat returns to Tower Millennium Pier. Tower Hill and Monument are the closest stations; check what is running before you plan the way home.
Before you book
The dress code is smart casual and jeans and trainers are not allowed. Dinner is at shared tables seating up to ten, so book in a single transaction if your group wants to sit together. Children are welcome from five, with the child fare covering ages 5 to 17.
Drinks beyond the two glasses of Champagne, the half bottle of wine and the water are bought at the bar. The crew work to hold the best position they can for the fireworks, but river traffic, weather and tide decide where the boat sits, and the captain’s decision on the night is final. This cruise carries 100% cancellation charges: once booked it cannot be cancelled.
