Christmas Day in Salisbury, Stonehenge and Bath with Traditional Lunch

This Christmas Day tour to Salisbury, Stonehenge and Bath is an 11-hour day trip from London on Friday 25 December 2026. Check-in opens at 7:45am at Stop Z6, outside 50 Grosvenor Gardens, London SW1W 0DH, for an 8:00am departure, and the coach is back at about 7:00pm with drop-offs at Gloucester Road, Hyde Park and Victoria. It includes the Christmas Day Eucharist at Salisbury Cathedral, a traditional Christmas lunch at the Stonehenge Inn, Stonehenge seen from the coach, a guided walking tour of Bath with mulled wine or hot chocolate, and a professional guide, in English only. Christmas morning in Salisbury Cathedral

The day starts on the road west, across the Wiltshire countryside and Salisbury Plain, past Stonehenge. The stones have stood there for around 5,000 years, and the site is closed on 25 December: you see them from the coach window rather than walking among them.

Then Salisbury Cathedral. It dates back to 1220 and carries the tallest spire in Britain. Most visitors meet it as a monument, with a ticket on an ordinary day. On Christmas morning you go in for the Eucharist and see it as a working church, on one of the great feasts of its year. The service is part of your ticket.

Lunch at the Stonehenge Inn, then Bath on foot

After the service the coach takes you to the Stonehenge Inn for a traditional Christmas lunch. The menu may change, and anything beyond the lunch itself, extra food or drinks, is not included.

The afternoon belongs to Bath. A guide walks you through the Georgian city, taking in the Roman Baths, the Royal Crescent and Bath Abbey; the Roman Baths are closed on Christmas Day, so you see them from outside. To finish, a mulled wine or a hot chocolate before the drive back to London.

Before you set out

Check the departure point. The coach leaves from Stop Z6, outside 50 Grosvenor Gardens, SW1W 0DH (what3words: locals.milk.relay). There is no Underground or bus service in London on 25 December, so plan to get there on foot or by taxi.

Choose where you get off. At the end of the day, around 7:00pm, the coach drops off at Gloucester Road, Hyde Park and Victoria.

Christmas Day or Boxing Day?

The same corner of England has a second date. On 26 December the Boxing Day tour leaves from the same stop, adds Windsor and goes inside Stonehenge, which has reopened by then; Salisbury Cathedral is seen from the road and there is no lunch.
