The Private Guided London Christmas Lights Tour is a three-hour drive through the capital’s illuminated streets in a private luxury vehicle for up to six guests, with your own expert guide and pick-up and drop-off at any central London hotel. It runs from 24 November 2026 to 4 January 2027, starting at 4pm, 5pm, 6pm or 7pm, and costs £699 per vehicle, whatever the number of guests up to six. Not suitable for children aged three or under. The lights without the queue, the cold or the crowd
Every other way of seeing the Christmas lights involves standing somewhere: on a pavement, in a bus queue, on an open top deck in December. This one starts at your hotel door. The car takes you along Regent Street under the angels, down Oxford Street with the largest display in the city, through the designer installations of Bond Street, into Covent Garden for the giant tree and the market piazza, then round Piccadilly and Trafalgar Square with its Norwegian tree. The guide tells the stories behind the displays; the driver stops for photos where it is safe and permitted.
Who it is for
Families with children over three, groups of friends and anyone who wants the lights on their own schedule. Six people in one car makes it about £117 a head; two people in the same car pay the same £699, which is the point to weigh against the shared open-top bus. Booster seats are available on request. The vehicle is not wheelchair accessible.
